Jeffrey Saad from the ‘Next Food Network Star’ to Judge Cake-Off this Sunday for the
Special Olympics’ Pier Del Sol 2009

Cake-off winners announced and cake served to guests at 11:45am

WHERE:
Pacific Park, near the Santa Monica Pier

WHAT:
Jeffrey Saad and two other judges will be judging eight local bakeries in the cake-off. The participating bakeries are: Fantasy Frostings, Hansen’s Cakes, Juniors’ Deli, La Provence, Merci Beaucoups, Nan’s Devonshire, Susiecakes, and Vons Bakery. 

The bakeries have been given the challenge of creating a birthday cake for the 40th Birthday of Special Olympics Southern California. The cakes are to be judged on:

• Creativity
• Taste
• “Wow” factor

The judges will be awarding Gold, Silver and Bronze medals to the top three cakes.

WHO:
A California Culinary Academy graduate, Jeffrey Saad has more than 25 years experience as a restaurateur, food consultant, recipe developer, and chef.

He enjoys cooking without borders: combining flavorful and often unexpected ingredients to achieve simple, tasty dishes in no time.

Best know as a finalist on the recent season of ‘The Next Food Network Star,’ the reality show star turned Food TV Host can now be seen hosting his own webisodes titled ‘The Spice Smuggler with Jeffrey Saad’ on the Food Network.
